Traditional walker handles are thin cylinders of hard plastic. Little thought is given to ergonomics, which can be devastating for the large population of users with arthritis.
In short, they are unsustainable, uncomfortable, and unpleasant to use. These cork handles are CNC’d to an ergonomic form that eases the stress normally imposed on the wrists. Cork was chosen as a highly regenerative and relatively affordable material that will form to the user’s hands over time, as well as one that is soft and warm to the touch, adding a much-needed sense of humanity to the object. The handles will also be offered in wood and molded plastic to account for preference and affordability.
